Sumita has over 24 years’ experience in Finance, Accounts and Administration. She has worked within Private Equity Fund and Real Estate Investment Fund with responsibilities for strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting of management companies and the preparation and the filing of regulatory reports. Successfully completed impact assessment and implementation for FMCG/Retail and Telecommunication clients.
Sumita has gained experienced in human resource matters having handled employee related matters including the processing of payroll, employment contracts and visas. Sumita is well versed with the regulatory requirements of various free zones within the UAE including but not limited to the JAFZA, DMCC, DWC & DIFC, particularly with respect to managing both the incorporation and ongoing corporate administration requirements of companies.
Prior to joining ASSA Advisors, Sumita worked for the NCB Capital Group (Then known as East-gate Capital Group) and prior to this experience she worked for a multinational market research company in Dubai. In India, she had worked with Encyclopedia & Ambit/RSM consulting and audit firm.
A lawyer by profession with 21 years of commercially-oriented professional with demonstrable strategic and hands-on analytical experience in Corporate Tax, M&A, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Due Diligence in the IT, Banking and Private Equity space.
Sidhartha’s contribution has been on Tax structuring in acquisition and mergers including cross border deals for over USD 300+ million. Over Sidhartha’s working life, he has acquired skills primarily on interpretation of law pertaining to Corporate Tax, Anti Money Laundering, Commercial Law, Arbitration Law.
Prior to joining ASSA Advisors, Sidhartha worked for the Actis Private Equity India and Lok Capital Private Equity in his last two stints for over a decade. Sidhartha has been a Lawyer at Allahabad & Delhi High Court in India and have been consulting on tax planning, drafting service agreements, filing, representing and contesting cases.
Neeraj is specializing in the field of Indirect Taxes with particular focus on UAE VAT Laws. He is a Commerce graduate and has handled large corporate clients in diverse sectors with particular focus on the Hospitality, Real Estate, Retail, Manufacturing, Infrastructure sector and E-Commerce.
Neeraj has been involved in VAT impact and implementation projects and has handled various clients in various sectors. He has also assisted in end to end on-call advisory post VAT implementation in UAE, computation of VAT liability, filing of VAT returns.
Prior to joining ASSA Advisors, Neeraj was engaged as an Assistant Manager at W T S Dhruva Consultants, specializing in the field of Indirect Taxes with particular focus on UAE VAT Laws. And has worked with UAE Banks as team leader and led a compliance role in the past.
Ms Minal Deshpande is a Chartered Accountant and a Company Secretary having 13 years of work experience with Infosys and IBM. She has worked as SAP FICO Consultant for 7 years for Banking and FMCG clients with extensive work experience in CA firms in Accounting, Audit, Taxation etc. Prior to joining ASSA, Minal has worked with WTS Dhruva, NR Doshi in UAE tax firms.
Minal has been assisting in various VAT health check projects for various clients in diverse sectors. She is also assisting in Revenue/Expense transaction mapping and review of ongoing VAT returns of clients.
